Call for Abstracts: 2024 Oregon ACP Poster Competition 

Deadline Sept. 30, 2024 

The Oregon Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) invites you to submit abstracts for the 2024 Oregon ACP Poster Competition, which will be held on Thursday November 14th, 2024 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland Lloyd Center. The poster competition is a chance for you to showcase your research and clinical work to your peers and mentors and receive feedback and recognition.

To submit your abstract, please follow these steps:

• Prepare your abstract according to the guidelines and format listed at the top of the Oregon abstract submission form
• Submit your abstract electronically by September 30th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST. Only abstracts submitted using the online form will be considered.

All abstract submissions will be accepted and displayed at the poster competition.

Please note that the judging process for the poster competition has changed from previous years. In the past, all abstracts were judged live in the first round, and the top 10% were selected for the second round. This year, only 20% of the abstracts (or a minimum of 5 entries in each category, whichever is greater) will be judged live to determine advancement to the national competition. The rest will be displayed without formal judging.  This change is intended to reduce the workload for the judges, shorten the competition length, and to allow more time for feedback and discussion. Posters that are not selected for live judging are still eligible for other recognitions. We strongly encourage all submitters to attend the poster competition, and other educational and networking events of the 2024 Oregon ACP Chapter Meeting. Poster Presentations will take place for those who advance to that round from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chapter Meeting on Thursday, November 14 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland.

FAQs

Q: When will submitters learn if they are in the top 20% and eligible for round 2 of formal judging?
A: Announcements will be made the day of the event. We do encourage that everyone preparing a poster be prepared to speak about their work, as all entrees, even those that do not advance to round 2 judging at the event, will be considered for Oregon chapter specific recognitions.
